Clergy Thoughts: On the 2nd Sunday of Advent Yr A, the church reminds us that while we are sustained by the great hope of the Lord’s coming, we are called to listen to the voice of the one crying out in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lord, make his path straight.” This is a call for repentance and reconciliation, a call for holiness of the heart as our outmost preparation towards the coming of the Lord. Therefore, let us rid ourselves of everything hindering us from receiving Christ, and seeing Christ in each other especially in the needy, this season. Maranatha, Come Lord Jesus. Amen! Fr Alex

Dates for your 2026 diary. The Social Planning Group met recently and continues to work hard to provide a good mix of social activities for the parish. Recent events raised £412 from the Macmillan Coffee Morning, £200 at the Strawberry Afternoon Tea, £700 at the Parish Barbecue and £150 at the Fun Quiz in October.
Next year we have planned for a Film Afternoon on 8 Feb, Bingo and Jacket Potato Supper on 7 March, Strawberry Afternoon Tea on 28 June and a Harvest Festival Service on 20 Sept. More events are likely, and further details will be available in the New Year. Very many thanks go to all helpers, organisers and supporters of these activities, without whom these social and fund-raising events would not happen.
