Parish News

A warm welcome to everyone. Tea and coffee are served after the 10.00am Mass on Sundays and the 09.30 Mass on Wednesdays; all are invited to join us. Father Alex offers a warm welcome to anyone who is visiting the parish this week.

Clergy Thoughts: The Readings for the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B guide us in understanding faith, suffering, and discipleship. They teach us to listen to God’s word, act on our faith, and follow Jesus’ path. Reflecting on these themes helps us grow closer to God and strengthens our commitment to our faith, as following Jesus requires sacrifice. We may have to give up our own desires and face difficulties. But by doing so, we will find true life in Christ. May we ask the Lord, to help us to listen to his voice and follow his path. Finally, may he give us the strength to live out our faith through our actions, as we take up our crosses and find true life in him. Amen. Fr Alex

Next Sunday 21st September is Evangelii Gaudium Day. There will be a second collection for Home Missions.

Parish Evangelization Outreach We are hoping to begin a regular monthly evangelization outreach programme in Diss town. Parishioners would give out pamphlets and information about our church and our Catholic faith.  If you are interested in being part or finding out more about this, please speak to Fr. Alex or put your name down on the sheet on the notice board.

Parish Evangelization Outreach is going out for the first time into Diss town on Friday 19 September between 10am and 12Noon. Speak to Fr Alex or Phillip Bissell if you wants to be included. However, you can still be part of the group even if you are not able to speak to any of us. Finally, let us all pray for both the people going out into the town and also the people who they will encounter. Fr Alex

Macmillan Coffee Morning Sunday 28 September following the 10 a.m. mass. Also, we will have a tombola which was very successful last year. But this relies on plenty of prizes... In the next two or three weeks please bring along suitable prizes for this and leave them in the box in the community room. Many thanks.
