Parish News

A warm welcome to everyone. Tea and coffee are served after the 10.00am Mass on Sundays and the 09.30 Mass on Wednesdays; all are invited to join us. Father Alex offers a warm welcome to anyone who is visiting the parish this week.

Clergy Thoughts: Today’s 12th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year A; the readings remind us that as Christians, we will face difficulties and persecutions for the sake of our Faith: In the face of these adversities we encounter daily, we shall also feel the temptation to let ourselves be carried away by fear and to hide our condition as Christians. However, Our Lord assures us today, do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. He also promises that he will stand on our side before the Father in heaven. May we acknowledge Him daily, whether in difficult times or not, so as to inherit his promises to us. Amen! Fr Alex

June is the month to the devotion of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Collections this Sunday 1) Day for Life 2026 and 2) For the Work of Life Charities.

  1. This Sunday, 21 June, we mark THE DAY FOR LIFE under the theme “The Wonder of the Child in the Womb.” The theme also recognises the loss of children who died before birth and the grief of their parents. The bishops’ message and prayers can be found on the Day for Life website: www.dayforlife.org. The second collection will go towards the Day for Life Fund, which distributes grants to organisations that promote respect for life from conception until natural death. You can also donate online via the Day for Life website."

Knitters Aware

Here at Stella Maris, we provide Chaplaincy care for all those who work at sea. We need some keen knitters to assist us in this mission, by knitting woolly hats which can then be given to the seafarers and fisherman we minister to. There is absolutely no preference in colour or style.  Please help us support these workers in their industry. Collection from your home address can be made or any postage fees covered. If you can assist, please let me know.  Many Thanks, Deacon Rick Jones, Port Chaplain to East Anglia,
